I can’t go to the chiropractor because I don’t have health insurance or how much is this going to cost me?
This is another common question we get all the time at our office. When you get into a car accident: most of the time you have coverage for your injuries via auto insurance. Again I really want to pound home this point, that you are covered under your auto insurance. Most people think it’s only health insurance. There are many variables with this but we offer a complimentary consultation to make sure you are completely covered for the injuries that you sustained from the accident. I’m writing this blog from Texas, so in my area if you are rear ended stat minimums on liability are $30,000.
In our office we work with these auto insurances so we can bill them directly and not you. Not all offices treat people that where in auto accidents. It is very important you ask the right questions when going to the provider or you might get left with the bill.
Here is a list of questions
- Do you treat auto accident patients?
- Will you bill 3rd party or a LOP? (I will be writing a later blog on LOP, so stay tuned)
- Do you take functional X-rays?
- How many auto accidents have you seen this year?
If the provider answers no to any of these questions, I would recommend finding another provider otherwise you will be stuck with the bills. Auto injuries are unique and you need to find a provider that is properly trained to evaluate these.
